How is it that Voodoo makes more sense than a tech malfunction? For some reason, this reiteration of Child’s Play seemed way more far fetched to me, than the premise of the original.
Also, why did they make this doll so creepy looking? What child would want this doll? Chucky is supposed to look cute and friendly, it’s the whole point. The perversion of something cute and innocent is part of the “terror”.
I don’t know why I was so bothered by this remake, it’s not like Child’s Play is my favorite franchise at all. I wish they had stuck to making sequels recasting past actors. At least those are fun.
Overall, it’s not terrible, but I did miss Brad Dourif’s voice, especially that laugh.
