Choosing my January Manga TBR with BTS and EXO (mini postcards)

Here is my manga TBR for January 2019!

I selected 20 volumes, however, I don’t think I’ll get through all 20. I just like having a large pool to select from.

I made a video showcasing all the manga volumes I acquired during 2018. In total I got 224 volumes, which I’d say is a lot for the average person, but not that much for a collector… I think.

[Mini Review] High-Rise Invasion vol. 1-2

35684903HighRise Invasion vo. 1-2 by Tsuina Miura and Takahiro Oba.

Things I liked:

I found this volume to be very entertaining. The pace is really good and the suspense is built up very well. I’m really looking forward to read the next volume. I’m genuinely intrigued and can’t to find out what’s really going on in this world.

The art is nice and the character design is interesting. The covers is really what grabbed my attention initially.

I also like that it’s a very fast read. There isn’t a whole lot of dialogue but then scenes are so well drawn that you don’t miss out on anything. Continue reading

#readmanga18 Manga Reading Challenge 2018 – Weeks 10-12

Weeks 10-12 of Manga Hoarder’s Manga Reading Challenge!!

Super mini reviews included.

Skip Beat volumes 1-5

I’m so happy to be reading Skip Beat again! It’s been a couple of years since I stopped reading it, so I decided to start it again. Skip Beat is one of my favorite anime ever, so much so that I decided to read the manga. I’m so glad I did. My favorite thing by far, is the protagonist, Kyoko. She’s not your typical heroine and you can’t help but love her. I love that her motivation is revenge, and I also love how gutsy and passionate she is. I have a lot of things to say about Kyoko, but I’ll save that for a different review. Perhaps the one things I don’t like about this manga is the art style. To be precise, I don’t like the body proportions of the characters. They have ridiculously long legs, small faces, and borderline ridiculous long pointy chins. I appreciate how they were drawn in the anime a little more now. This won’t stop me from continuing reading the manga, it’s just too good!

Manga Reading Challenge 2018 – Weeks 8 & 9

Weeks 8 and 9 of Manga Hoarder’s Manga Reading Challenge 2018!

Super short reviews included:

Even though I read 8 volumes I was only able to complete 2 new challenges. I guess most of the manga I read is pretty similar.  I’ve completed 16 of the 52 challenges, that’s really not a lot. But I really want to concentrate on reading the manga I own, before going out to purchase new manga to complete the challenges.  Continue reading

[manga] Manga Reading Challenge 2018 – Week 6 & 7

Week 6 and 7 of Manga Hoarder’s Manga Reading Challenge!

You guys! I’m so close to being done with this series. I’m so excited, but also sad because I am loving this series so much.

These last two weeks I read 3 volumes of Kamisama- Kiss. I read volumes 19-21.

The thing about trying to complete a series while doing a challenge is that I can’t really complete any new challenges. Kamisama-kiss pretty much completes the same 6 challenges, volume after volume.

Anyway, as far the manga is concerned, I felt these weren’t the best volumes. Especially volumes 20 & 21. I love Nanami’s character, however, sometimes she can be stubborn. The kind of stubborn that leads to stupid mistakes that could have been avoided. I tend to find these types of stubborn characters a bit annoying. I really hope that she goes back to her smart strong self in the last few volumes, otherwise, I’m going to be pretty disappointed.
