I was tagged by Sam @ RiverMoose-Reads
Thank you for tagging me!!!
This tag was surprisingly difficult even though I have 100+ unread books on my shelves.

Ok so Maka and Soul are not a romantic couple, they’re best friends, but I couldn’t think of a more perfect “couple” for this. Their ultimate goal is to turn Soul into a Death Scythe. It’s a bumpy road, but they never give up because they know they can depend on each other. Continue reading
Guess who’s back? Back again. Zim is back. Tell a friend!
I’ve finally started reading the Invader Zim comic!!! Let me just say that issue one was a great start to the comic. It was amazing just like Zim! The rest were just as amazing except for issue #6. I hated the art style. Continue reading
Hey guys! I was tagged by the super awesome Dr. Awkto @ The Inky Awkto to do this tag! This tag, this tag I like. I am in the mood for tags, so yes! Tag time!!!
1. What do you like about buying new books?
My favorite thing about new books is that they come in (almost) perfect condition. What I like about buying books in general is having them at my disposal for whenever I want to read them. Also they look lovely on my shelves.
2. How often do you buy new books?
Around once a month, but I’m trying to cut back.
3. Bookstore or online book shopping – which do you prefer?
I prefer online book shopping because it’s cheaper. However, my local used books store has some pretty good titles for pretty good prices.
4. Do you have a favorite bookshop?
Sadly, there is only one bookshop in my town, so I guess that’s my favorite one.
5. Do you preorder books?
No because they usually take a couple extra days to arrive and that just pisses me off. I don’t want to wait! I’d rather just go to the store the day they’re released.
6. Do you have a monthly book buying limit?
I try to stick to ~$30 per month. Except when it comes to manga.
7. Book buying bans – Are they something for you?
Instead of just banning myself from buying any books, I set a spending limit. It’s worked out pretty well I think.
8. How big is your wishlist?
Too big! And it just keep getting longer!!
9. Which three books from your wishlist do you wish to own NOW?
I honestly don’t know. I guess I really want the complete Lux series and the complete Vampire Academy series. That would be nice.
Umm, I tag you Pikachu! Heh just kidding. No, but I do tag you. Ok ok, I’m going to be honest with you, the main reason I don’t do tags is because I don’t like tagging people. By the time I get to a tag, most people have already done it, also, tagging takes too much time, too much back and forth and I’m lazy!
Garnet (January): Associated with warding off negative forces and dark energies. – Name a book with the darkest/evilest character you can think of.
Forever Odd by Dean Koontz. The villain and her minions are just evil and insane. There’s no dark backstory or objective, they’re just evil and batshit crazy.
Amethyst (February): Purple is associated with royalty. – Name a book with regal qualities. You can base this off of characters or choose the King of all books.
In my opinion, the king of all books is The Ultimate Hitchhiker’s Guide by Douglas Adams. It’s a compilation of the books in the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series, plus one story. I love that book so much and, not counting Harry Potter, the first “beautiful” book I ever bought. It’s faux leather with gold letter and stuff. It looks pretty cool.
Aquamarine (March): Washed Out. – Name a ‘wishy washy’ character. A character who is not strong or a follower.
Tally from Scott Westerfeld’s Uglies. She’s a follower in the beginning, but she quickly learns that not everything is as it seems. Though she does choose a side and stands up for what’s right, I don’t really consider her a strong character yet.
Diamond (April): A Diamond in the rough. – Named a book that you loved, but that is not well known.
Spellbinder by Helen Stringer. I remember I absolutely loved this book when I first read it. I haven’t read it in many years so I don’t know how I would feel about it now, but it’s still one of my top books and it’s sadly gone virtually unnoticed. It only has 1,033 ratings on Goodreads.
Emerald (May): Said to balance energy. – Name two characters who balance each other well.
Max and Kevin from Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick.
They’re so well balanced in fact, that they became one (not literally). Such a beautiful book!
Pearl (June): Associated with loyalty. – Name a character who is loyal to the end.
Does manga count? If it does then Gintama from Gintama by Hideaki Sorachi. Man, I honestly wish I had someone like him on my side. The friendships and bonds in this series are amazing.
Ruby (July): Blood red. – Name a book that made your blood boil, one that made you angry.
Wicked by Gregory McGuire. Hated.every.single.character!
Peridot (August): Pale green (it pales in comparison to other gems). – Name a supporting character who you like better than the main character.
Luke from the Percy Jackson series. I like Luke probably a little more than all the other characters. Sure, maybe he’s going about it all wrong, but he makes a good point.
Sapphire (September): Blue like the ocean which is calming. – Name a book that had a calming effect on you.
The Name Of This Book Is Secret by Pseudonymous Bosch. All the books in this series put me in a good mood. I wouldn’t say “calming” but definitely good. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that made me feel calm, the emotions are too strong.
Opal (October): Iridescent. – Name an iridescent book, this can be a book with a beautiful cover (Shiny? Lots of colour?) or you can base it of a character (Quirky? Colourful?)
Snuff by Terry Pratchett. The colors of that cover and quite nice with shiny gold letters.
Topaz (November): Associated with resilience. – Name a book with a character who rises to the top in a time of adversity.
Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz. Favorite.protagonist.ever! Odd has gone through such adversity, yet he never gives up or complains.
Blue Zircon (December): Associated with friendship.– Name a book with a friendship you want to be a part of.
I’m going to have to go with Gintama again. Seriously, can we be friends?
Once again, thank you DrAwkto for tagging me! I had a lot of fun doing this tag.
Day 3 is here! I would like to thank Kelly @ Stellar Scrutiny for nominating me for this challenge. It was a lot of fun! Please check out her blog for bookish awesomeness!
1) Thank the person who nominated you.
2) Post a quote for three consecutive days.
3) Nominate three new bloggers each day.
As this is the last the last day, I thought I’d leave you with something a little more fun! I tried to get creative with the font with this one but…
“Generally speaking, books don’t cause much harm. Except when you read them, that is. Then they cause all kinds of problems.”
― Pseudonymous Bosch, The Name of This Book Is Secret
I know I’m supposed to tag three people but… I’ve run out of people to tag! I also worry that some people don’t like doing tags, so I’m just bothering them. So um… if you want to do this tag, consider yourself tagged!!
Once again, I would like to thank Kelly @ Stellar Scrutiny for tagging me! Check out her quotes!
Following yesterday’s quote, I give you this!
“We who survive must go on in the names of those who fall, but if we dwell too much on the vivid details of what we’ve witnessed of man’s inhumanity to man, we simply can’t go on. Perseverance is impossible if we don’t permit ourselves to hope.”
Words I try to live by. Despite all my positivity an optimism, sometimes I feel saddened and disappointed by the way we, humans, are. But we mustn’t lose hope, the world is full of good people and good things!
Today I would like to tag:
Stefanie @ yourdaughtersbookshelf
Aimee @ RedheadedBookLover
Maria @ Big City Book Worm
Sorry if you’ve already been tagged. Please do not feel obligated to do this tag.
