[I.Y.B.H.A.S] Cinder

Yay! It’s time for another “If your book had a soundtrack” post! I’ve been putting it off, but I think it’s time I do this!

This time my choice for songs were pretty much based on the music videos and the whole “forbidden/tragic love” thing.

It’s hard to say if Cinder and Kai’s love is forbidden or tragic this early in the series, but she is a commoner and he’s royalty. Not to mention the evil queen will most certainly try to get in the way. So I guess it’s safe to assume that it’s probably forbidden and maybe even tragic.

Without further ado, I present to you 2 K-pop songs. Yeah, I know. So far I’ve mostly posted K-pop songs, but to be honest, I haven’t really been keeping up with American or music in English since like 2007. Plus K-pop is so much fun! SO.MUCH.FUN!

Okay, song #1: Someone Met by Chance by LEDApple

The reason I chose this song was because it fits so well, the girl is either an android or a cyborg and there’s an “evil witch” that gets in the way! It also has this futuristic look and well, Cinder is based in the future.

By the way, there is a 9min. long video that explains the story a little more, just in case you’re interested.

Video#2: Error by VIXX

Talk about tragic love. Well this song and MV are a bit more sad, but again, the girl and maybe even the guy are either cyborgs or androids. I’m not sure. I think there’s a longer version of this video that explains it better, but I’m not sure. Anyway, here it is. Enjoy!

[I.Y.B.H.A.S] Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Wow! It’s been a long time since I last made one of these posts, but I have felt inspired once again. This time I was inspired by a character in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies I was inspired by Miss Bingley, her jealousy of Elizabeth and childish behavior. She tries so hard to get between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy apart but  she’s too foolish to realize that Mr. Darcy doesn’t even glance her way. Her efforts are futile!

Song: Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne

So is this video the girl that’s trying to steal the boyfriend is the “better” girlfriend, but when only taking the lyrics into consideration this is basically what Miss Bingley is telling Mr. Darcy. And she acts just as mean and childish as Avril does in this video. Anyway, I can totally picture her singing this song lol.

[I.Y.B.H.A.S] Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Warning: Some Not so SFW stuff further down

Welcome to another If Your Book Had A Soundtrack Friday!!! Yes, I decided to make this an every other Friday thing. But really it’ll depend on whether or not I read a book that inspires me to make one of these posts. Anyway! I read Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout and I would be lying if I said I didn’t buy the book mostly because of the hot guy in the cover. But also, I had heard really good things about the book.

Sure enough, this book had almost steamy moments which were awesome~ This book reminded me of two songs.

Panic at the Disco’s Nicotine. Like nicotine, Kat and Daemon are bad for each other but they just can’t stay away. The attraction is too strong!!

And also, the sexual tension between these two was strong, which is why it reminded me of  Aoora’s Body Talk. Also, Daemon calls Katy kitten and in this song… well you’ll see when you read the lyrics.

Warning NSFW. This video is pretty short and a bit weird, and it’s probably NSFW.

Translated lyrics snippet also NSFW:

Blow Me Slowly Kitty Kitty
Feel It Filthy Whoo Baby

You spark the fire that I held back
Shattering the plate that held it

[I.Y.B.H.A.S] Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz

Picture1

Book: Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz

Song: In the End by Black Veil Brides

Odd Thomas is by far my favorite protagonist. He’s just amazing. Even after all he’s been through, all that he’s lost, he still remains kind, and good, and never loses sight of what he needs to do. He doesn’t let fear over come him, he doesn’t let anger cloud his judgement, and even though sometimes the situations thrust upon him are too much for anyone to handle, he keeps going.

Odd Thomas is a fighter! Odd Thomas perseveres.

Like wise, In the End by the Black Veil Brides is about perseverance. It’s about not giving up even when other people are trying to put you down. You need to persevere and get back up when you fall. Your life matters, do something amazing. Don’t let other people tell you you can’t do something.

Fight for yourself, fight for who you are!
